Minimum Requirements

Qualification:
N2 (Electrical) or equivalent
Valid and appropriate drivers license
Valid gloving method authorisation
Experience:
3 Years related line construction/maintenance

Key Responsibilities

Carries out live work under planned conditions on all apparatus as authorized for and according to specifications by:
Inspecting energized apparatus and discussing the procedure to be used (tailgate talk).
Work under normal conditions on energized apparatus according to statutory and legal requirements.
Connecting / disconnecting apparatus whilst conforming with safety requirements and quality standards.
Providing feedback on progress and difficulties encountered.
Carries out pre-work inspections on live work equipment
Conforms to statutory and ESKOM requirements by:
Inspecting plant and equipment
Keeping informed of technologies in use and changes in statutory and ESKOM requirements.
Ensuring and maintaining a valid authorization
Carrying out electrical tests on live work equipment
Performs administrative duties by:
Analysing work orders in order to plan for the task and to ensure that the required material; and equipment is available.
Completing live-work declaration form.
Maintaining records of inspections and tests
Enhances Eskom's Image by:
Maintaining customer care awareness.
Maintaining environmental awareness.
Re-constituting terrain to standard.
